For visitors, there are five principal international airports in this federal republic. Once inside the nation, locals and tourists alike can get around through a network of railways, highways, and waterways. If you wish to travel by train, you can choose between the two major railways in the country. One connects the city of Lagos and the town of Nguru, Yobe. The other connects the city of Port Harcourt and the city of Maiduguri. When it comes to the highways, you can utilise the more or less 108,000 kilometres of surfaced roads in Nigeria. For those of you who do not have your own car, simply take advantage of the various vehicle rental companies in the country. Now, if you wish to travel by waterways, you will most probably be passing through the Niger River, Benue River, Niger Delta, Lagos Lagoon, and Cross River.

It must be noted that transportation in Nigeria is not the best in the world. Roads, airports, tracks, and ports are poorly maintained and some areas are very unsafe. However, various organisations and government agencies are now doing their best to improve the country's traffic conditions. So, hopefully, great improvements can be seen in the next few years.
